Who doesn’t love caramel? This caramel sauce is great over ice cream, an angel food cake, or fruit. With only a handful of ingredients, easy prep, and easy cooking, it’s a sure fire way to dress up your dessert.
Yield: 1 1/4 cups
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Combine butter and brown sugar in a heavy sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until sugar melts.
- Stir in whipping cream; bring mixture to a full boil. Stir in vanilla.
